Bondi Beach

I went to Nick's at Bondi beach pavillion this weekend with Seung Jin and his wife, Hana. As Seung Jin comes to Sydney once every year, my aim is to take him to a place or have foods that he can't enjoy so easily in Korea.

Nick's at Bondi is quite a great place to enjoy an Australian atmosphere. It has a great vew of Bondi beach. I have never been to Nick's before and i quite liked it. I like the fact it was very open, with all glass walls to access the great view, and has quite high ceilings which again gives you very open feeling. And the match of white and sky blue colors in the restaurant matches well with the blue sky on a nice sunny day. Also the whites in the restaurant also gives very clean atmosphere.

We had barramundi, tuna chef special, rib eye steak and some salad and although its a seafood restaurant, our favourite dish of the day of rib eye. Apparently, this is the restaurant that does Ribs buffet all Monday, all Tuesday and Sunday dinner.

It is just such a great place to enjoy your Saturday noon. I must say, i wouldn't mind having lunch there every Saturday.

After our lunch, we went for a walk along the beach to see all the art works around Bondi, but, Hana, as most girls are, didn't quite like walking too much and we headed to seek a nice coffee shop.
Although, we were looking for a coffee shop, we couldn't go pass this interesting little cafe with so many delicious cakes infront of the cafe. Coffees were okay but the cakes were soooo delicious. I don't usually like cakes because they are too sweet for my liking, but the cakes they have at the cafe were special. The cake slices are about $7 each so they are quite expensive considering you could buy a Burger King meal with $7 but its worth having one. I would recommend the vanilla cake which was made of pastries with custards inside.

Oh? hahaha

oppa..I've actually been to that cake place.

I went with Eunjoo onni and Nancy onni! hehe.

I thought you were talking about some place actually next to the Pavilion at Bondi, not on the main parade.

Thought you had, that's why i asked you Sundy. I don't goto Bondi too often, not my area since i'm Manly boy, but that cake cafe was really nice. I want that Vanila cake again!

hey mate, nice photos and I am no expert yet, but your first 2 photos look over-exposed. Try playing around with your exposure settings. There is a really good photographer at work who can teach me and I will probably get D80 soon... or I might wait for the 30D. Anyway let's take some photos together coz I think we will both need plenty of practise.

I meant the 40D

Yeah, there is lot to learn, and i'm trying different settings.

The first two photos were taken that way intentionally, coz i liked it that way. I had to take several shots before i got it to look like that.

If you want D40 get, D40X, i hear D40X has real good noise function.

oh.. i thought you might have inteded it.. :) i guess it comes down to personal taste, but I don't like washed out photos...

I am thinking of getting a 30mm F/1.4 for portrait. and 17-50mm F/2.8 for all round, and then perhaps a wide angle (10-20mm) and zoom (70-200mm) later...

I don't think I will like the D40X due to smaller grip, 30D was most comfortable for me..

Sorri, got confused with 40D and D40. Yeah, get 40D. It'll be out by the end of this year.

Nice photos Steve.
hehe lunch at Bondi every saturday? That sounds cool but then you have to sacrifice your morning...

haha Manly boy... what am I then...hmm Kuringai boy (or kuringai national park boy?)

To me, I think your photo look over exposed as you intended. Boy~ Korean love those over exposed photos.

Canon 40D is a great camera as well as D80. But again there is no such thing as bad camera thought.

G1/ your lens combination on the list is very good. You can't go hardly wrong with that combination.
My only note is 17-50mm F/2.8 is also very good for portrait thought.
When you buy 30mm 1.4, I believe it is sigma lens right? Make sure you test the lens as soon as you buy it. This lens often have a faulty pin issue.

I think wide lens should be the last lens to get.

Fuji S5Pro is another excellent camera.

It is same body as nikon's D200 but actual CCD chip made by FujiFilm and I reckon, Fuji has best CCD technology in the competition.

If you like film look, fuji is the only camera which can deliver the such look in the photo without photoshop work.

Because it uses nikon D200 body, you can use all the lenses and accesories for Nikon.

Gogi/Kuring-Gai Boy/

Hyung, sorri to say this, but its either your a Bondi boy or a Manly boy. There is no other. i.e. You either like Bondi Beach or Manly beach.

Its really the girls that love over exposed photos. Hana, lady in the picture, wouldn't be impressed unless it was over exposed. -,.-;

Then again, i don't think, i'll take normal looking photos. I'll fiddle around with exposure to pull out something different.

I didn't know about Fuji could use Nikon lense and accesseries. Then Fuji is not so bad.

I think it's an Asian girl thing to like washed out photos.
A lot of girls want that whole white washed out effect to make their skin look white and to hide freckles and blemishes! hehe

Just be careful or the girl's face will disappear completely and there will just be an outline where the hair starts and eyes and nothing else.

hehe

hey...
I really like how you have changed to a black background...it makes the photos look even better. I think everybody has gone a little camera manic at siloam?? Ki Young oppa is getting his on the weekend. Its his new toy....to replace fishing and golf.

ukies/ Hey how are ya? Tell Kiyoung hyung that i congratulate him for joining photography. It's a lot of fun really. Better than i have expected and you'll never get bored. There's a lot of places in London to take photos so it'll be a great playground for him.
