Sydney Harbour

I've just bought a Nikon D80 DSLR (Digital SLR) camera this weekend. I've been looking, researching, asking around and studing to buy a DSLR for about six months now and finally i have bought the camera. I have also been planning to open up a new blog, with posts in English, as highly recommended by a friend but because i wanted it to be a blog with lots of photos, i couldn't start one until i bought meself a camera. But, finally, here it is. Ta da~

Because i was so excited by the fact that i could start up my new hobby of taking photos, when i arrived home soon after buying the camera, i asked my parents if they wanted to go out to Darling Harbour with me so that 1. i could spend some quality time with them 2. so that i could take some nice photos of Sydney harbour.

I imagined my parents sitting at a coffee shop relaxing and chatting away, where they could have some nice cheesecake and coffees and me running around Darling Harbour all cheerful taking heaps of photos.

But, something was not right. As mum was preparing to leave the house, she took some different tops/jumpers with her and put her make up on, putting extra effort to look extra pretty. As i figured out later, mum wanted me to take some photos of her so that she could post some pictures on her Korean highschool friends homepage.

So the day turned out where it wasn't about going out to take photos of what i wanted to take but more what mum suggested i should take and of herself. I have exaggerated a bit here, but end of the day, 90% of the photos i took was of mum or what she suggested. T.T;

The photos on this post are from the remaining 10% of the photos i took on this weekend. Likely, when we went to Darling Harbour, there was a sailing coffee cruise which was at 2 for 1 price. That's why you won't see much photos of Darling Harbour but the Sydney Harbour.

gogi/ yes~! let's go take some photos!! i'm planning to go probably every Saturday. Let me know if you want to go with me.

ukies/ Hey Christina, how is it in London? Nancy came to church last Sunday. kk kk She brought me a little london bus. She looked the same, perhaps a bit younger? kk kk
Anyways, come visit often, talk to you soon.

I'm considering a DLSR by the end of this year if not sooner... Still deciding between Canon and Nikon...

G1/ Hey hurng, kk kk i initially wanted to buy Canon 30D but i didn't like it. You really gotta goto the shop and take some test shots before you can have a real feel for it. Otherwise you can wait until end of this year for 40D or buy 30D for bargain price now.

I quite like the photo with the park bench in the foreground.

Something about empty benches really appeal to me.

Cheers.

pamplemousse/ yeah, i like it as well. Its a beautiful scenary with an empty seat.

Kinda make you feel a bit lonely. Doesn't it? And makes you want to take your gf and sit there...

Seems a bit redundant to say it now, but i saw your money shot of the bridge and i have to say, it is stunning. Just everything about it, the shadow, light, the freshly mown lawns... awesome photo. You're quite the photographer! Do you do special events? :P You should!
